Job Title:          Banquet Captain

Department:    Food & Beverage

Reports To:      Food & Beverage Director/General     

                         Manager/Catering Manager

FLSA Status:    Hourly Non Exempt

 

Summary Serves guests quickly, efficiently and cheerfully with a complete knowledge of food and beverage menu items.  Supervise front of house staff as to proper room set up and service throughout the length of an event, including breakdown. Offer superior guest experience to LynnwoodConvention Center guests. Maintain the room and work stations in a clean and orderly manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Warmly greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival

Have thorough knowledge of food and beverage menus as per event. Some wine knowledge required

Assembles the complete list of supplies needed per event.

Supervises and helps set room and tables, according to function, based on event orders and as specified by Catering Manager. Assign tasks and tables to wait staff. Conduct pre and post event meetings with staff.

Maintain cleanliness of event room and back staging areas.

Be willing and able to serve.

Ensures serving and bussing procedures as dictated by the supervisor and LCC are carried through in proper fashion. Executes appropriate sequence of service

Check that silverware and hollowware are polished, as required for events. Makes sure glassware is clean and free of smudges and marks.

Maintain friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring

that all needs are anticipated and met. We must exceed guest expectations.

Serve as point of contact for guest representative during events.

Responsible for room breakdown and the return of equipment, linens, etc. to their proper storage areas.  Report loss or damage of banquet assets.

Must have current food handlers permit and alcohol servers permit.

Must arrive for shift on time and in appropriate work attire to include black shoes, black pants, and black button down shirt.

Must have a pleasant personality and a neat appearance.

Always maintains focus and a good sense of humor.

Working Conditions

This position will require long periods of standing

Direct contact with guests, managers and employees

Occasional environmental exposures to cold heat and water.

Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds

Must be able to carry and balance up to 10 dinner plates on a tray

Job Title:            Dishwasher

Location:            Lynnwood Convention Center (Lynnwood, WA)

Reports To:       Executive Chef

FLSA Status:     Hourly

Team member should have strong knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness practices.

Experience:

  • Worked as a dishwasher in a commercial kitchen setting for at least one year
  • Must have the ability to work under general direction and a desire to learn
  • Prefer high volume kitchen
  • Must have current food handler’s permit
  • Shifts are flexible based on events and building schedule
  • Must be able to be on feet during duration of shift
  • Must be able to move or lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to withstand loud noises and temperature changes in the environment
  • Must have a flexible schedule
  • Must be able to take direction and work positively in a team environment
