(LYNNWOOD, WA), The Lynnwood Public Facilities District is proud to announce that the Lynnwood Convention Center received a clean audit for the 2010 calendar year, according to a report issued by the State Auditor's Office on Tuesday, October 4, 2011.
This is the seventh consecutive clean audit of the Lynnwood Convention Center.
The Lynnwood Convention Center is owned by the Lynnwood Public Facilities District and managed by SMG, the worldwide leader in convention and entertainment management.
The audit examined the District's accountability to the public from January 2010 through December 2010. The audit looked at several areas, including the District's financial condition, its compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, and the safeguarding of public assets.
"The audit shows that the public should have every confidence in the conservative financial management of the Convention Center," said Mike Echelbarger, the Chair of the District's Board. "The District is well positioned to weather the current economic downturn, and will continue to benefit the economy of the Lynnwood area."
Based on a study by Red Seven Media, the Convention Center generated an estimated $17,336,544 in economic benefit in 2010. The Convention Center hosted 447 events in 2010, with a total attendance of 77,981.
