(LYNNWOOD, WA) The American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) will be returning to the Lynnwood Convention Center for the Puget Sound Regional tournament
August 19th through August 25th.
The tournament is open to the public and runs from 7:00pm-11:00pm on Monday and 9:00am-11:00pm Tuesday through Sunday. There are three sessions each day with multiple events. The cost of each session is $13.00.
Winners of each event get Masterpoints and prestige. Masterpoints are registered by the ACBL and flight standings are based on how many Masterpoints a player has accumulated. Masterpoints can only be earned by playing in ACBL sanctioned tournaments and help players to achieve titles such as Life Master, Gold Life and Grand Master.
Since this is a regional tournament, the ACBL expects there will be on average 100 bridge tables in play at each session."Competition is usually harder and draws larger crowds than a sectional," explained Tournament Chair, Tom Hansen. Most participants are local but some players come from all over the United States, including professional bridge players.
"My favorite part of the competition is the competitive nature and the friendships that you develop over the years," said Hansen.
