Thanks for the Good Times Eddie:

Four years ago SMG was working to host the first SMG World at the IAEM (now IAEE) tradeshow. The theme was Support PROP 42 or something similar. It was the last presidential election year and we thought it would be clever to play off the whole campaign theme. PROP 42 was the number of properties (convention centers) that SMG had at that time. We wore these outrageously bright, over the top, obnoxious, YELLOW T-shirts like someone would produce for their election campaign.

Recipe by Chef Michael and SAVOR... Catering by SMG

Now that barbecue season is just around the corner, here is a recipe to give your meats a little kick. Harissa is a tunisian spice paste that makes a great marinade for your grilled foods. Rub generously into such cuts as flank steak or lamb chops and marinate over night. Grill over medium heat for a light char and crust. This recipe should yield about 2 -3 quarts and will keep in the refrigerator for a month. Enjoy!

Event Spotlight:

Edmonds School District
Visioning Meeting
February 15, 2008

On Friday, February 15, 2008, nearly 600 elementary teachers and administrators in the Edmonds School District came together to discuss "A Vision for All Students Learning".

The meeting was sponsored by the Public Education Foundation and was a rare opportunity for the entire group (kindergarten through 6th grade) to come together for meaningful conversation on the future of elementary education in Edmonds School District.

"We had a wonderful experience for our Visioning Workshop with our educators. The facility provided a professional and comfortable setting for our important work. We appreciated the attentive staff and great service."

- Sue Venable
Assistant Superintendent, Edmonds School District #15

A Note from the GM

We innovate. We listen to suggestions and it changes how we do business. At the Lynnwood Convention Center we are always looking for new things that inspire us, so we can serve you better. Since we opened in April of 2005, we spent time with some wonderful people and hosted some very special events.

We continue to partner with the groups that seek a more intimate setting with personalized service. We know that there are many Meeting Planners with many different needs, tastes, dreams, aspirations...and budgets.

Which brings us back to the beginning; simply put, we want to offer a beautiful venue for meetings, conferences and banquets at affordable prices. It requires a different approach. It means finding simple solutions, eliminating barriers to doing business, and looking for new opportunities to better serve you in every direction.

Our business model is based on a partnership with you, the customer. We actually listen to your goals and objectives. Next, we deliver — on a personal scale — so that we can get it right the first time.

Then you do your part. Celebrate the success of a perfect meeting, tell your friends and colleagues, and come back to visit us soon.

So together we can continue enjoying... a better meeting place.
