Public Facilities District
The Lynnwood PFD was established under the authority of the Laws of the State of Washington, Chapter 165, Laws of 1999, pursuant to Ordinance 2266 of the City Council of the City of Lynnwood, passed August 24, 1999. Under RCW 35.57, the City has authority to form a public facilities district for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, maintaining and financing a regional center, which may be a convention center.
Mission Statement
The Lynnwood Public Facilities District shall serve as an economic catalyst for the community through the development of public facilities. The Public Facilities District shall be a cornerstone for the City of Lynnwood's revitalization through its development efforts and the professional operation of its facilities.
The Public Facilities District shall provide leadership and vision in all of its activities for the citizens of Lynnwood and South Snohomish County, so as to provide a valuable addition to the economic vitality of the region and a sense of pride for the community.
PFD meetings
Meetings of the Lynnwood PFD are held the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6pm at the Lynnwood Convention Center. If a meeting is to be cancelled, a cancellation notice will be posted at the District offices 24 hours in advance. Mike Echelbarger,
Chair
President of Echelbarger Properties and has been involved in the real estate and development industry for over 25 years. He has served as President or Chairman on the boards of numerous community organizations including the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, Seattle Master Builder's Association and Junior Achievement. In addition, he previously served as Councilman and Mayor Pro-Tem for the city of Woodway. Mr. Echelbarger's term expires in 2010.
Andy Olsen,
Board Member
Andy Olsen is Managing Director and co-founder of The Chambers Group and has been involved in the hospitality industry throughout North America for over 30 years. He serves on the Advisory Board for Washington State University's SCHRA program. In addition, he is also a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, the Washington State Hotel & Lodging Association and the Cornell Hotel Society. Mr. Olsen's term expires in 2010.
Robert Fuller,
Vice Chair
Robert Fuller provides financial advice and planning to individuals and corporations. He has served on local boards including President of Lynnwood Rotary, President of Lynnwood Rotary Foundation, Chairman of the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Evergreen School, Steven?s Hospital Foundation and the University of Washington?s Apogee Institution. Mr. Fuller's term expires in 2009.
George Sherwin,
Secretary
Mr. Sherwin is a former Senior Vice President of Land Development for Quadrant Homes. He is past president of the Washington state Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and has been actively involved in local, regional and state planning and development issues. Community activities include the YMCA, church and economic development issues. Mr. Sherwin's term expires in 2011.
Liz Wilson,
Board Member
Liz Wilson is Senior Vice President of the Washington Bankers Association and has been involved in association management for over 24 years. She has served on the children's Hospital Advisory Council, the Lynnwood High School Parent Faculty Association and is currently serving as president for the Washington Society of Association Executives. Ms. Wilson's term expires in 2011.
