The Convention Center hosts two Art Shows a year, which run approximately six months each. All
shows are juried by professionals from the local arts community, and they choose the works to be
shown from artist submissions.
The wall space is set up for hanging 2D work, which needs to be fairly sizable to show well (24” x 24”
minimum). Because of non-art events hosted year-round, work is hung a minimum of five to six feet off
the floor, as lower wall space is often needed for convention exhibits and booths. For the same reason,
we do not exhibit 3D work, given the need for flexible floor space that can be configured for a variety of
events.
The Convention Center provides publicity for the shows through a wide variety of local print and online
outlets. Artists will receive postcards advertising the show, to send out to patrons and supporters
before the Artist’s Reception is held. These will also be distributed in the local area. Food and drink will
be provided by the Convention Center at this early evening event.
